Marcia Kaufman Biography

Marcia Kaufman, a founding partner of Hurwitz & Associates, has 20 years of experience in business strategy, industry research and analytics. Her primary research focus is on the business and technology benefit of emerging technologies, particularly in the areas of information management, business intelligence, and service oriented architecture. Marcia’s recent research and consulting engagements have focused on the business value of SOA, information management, virtualization, data quality, business analytics and business intelligence, and partner ecosystems. Her background in marketing research and strategy for Fortune 500 manufacturing and financial services companies has been valuable in developing the framework and methodology employed in the Hurwitz & Associates customer benefit GreenPapers. Marcia is a co-author of Service Oriented Architecture For Dummies, published by Wiley in 2007.

Previously, she was a senior analyst with Strategy Analytics where she focused on e-business practices, IT infrastructure, and services. She was also a senior strategy consultant at Bowne. Marcia has worked extensively on financial services industry modeling and forecasting in various research environments including Data Resources Inc. (DRI). Marcia holds an AB from Connecticut College in mathematics and economics and an MBA from Boston University.
